- Basic Steps (SOP) –
1. Check – Ensure scene safety, assess victim
2. Call – Alert emergency services (e.g., 999)
3. Start CPR – Chest compressions if trained
4. Turn on AED – Follow voice prompts
5. Attach Pads – Place pads on chest as instructed
6. Analyze Rhythm – Do not touch patient
7. Deliver Shock if Advised – Press shock button when prompted
8. Continue CPR – Until help arrives or patient recovers - Device Familiarization – On/Off button, electrode pads, battery status, audio/visual prompts
- Maintenance – Regular checks of battery, pads expiry, self-test indicators
- Safety Points – Ensure no one touches patient during shock, use dry surface, remove metal contact if possible
